Payments Due on Back Due Taxes

Paying your IRS taxes can be done through several methods. Here's a breakdown of your options:

1. Online Payment

IRS Direct Pay

Pay directly from your checking or savings account.

No registration required.

Visit IRS Direct Pay.

Debit or Credit Card

Use an approved payment processor listed on the IRS website.

Fees apply.

IRS Online Account

Create an account to view your balance and make payments.

Visit IRS Online Account.

2. Through the IRS2Go App

Download the app (available on iOS and Android).

Pay directly from your bank account or by card.

3. Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS)

For businesses and individuals.

Free registration required.

Visit EFTPS.

4. Check or Money Order

Make it payable to "United States Treasury."

Write your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN), tax year, and form number (e.g., "1040") on the check.

Mail it to the address provided in your IRS notice or on the IRS website.

5. Payment Plan

If you can't pay in full, apply for a payment plan:

Short-Term Plan: Pay within 180 days.

Long-Term Plan: Monthly installment agreements.

6. In-Person Payment
